Flora & Fauna
Avondale is at the forefront of golf course environmental management in Australia. In 2001 we became the first club in New South Wales to become Audubon certified (the aim of the Audubon International Society is to ‘conserve and restore natural eco-systems, wildlife and habitat for the benefit of humanity). Avondale led the country in the implementation of the industry standard e-par environmental management system.
We are blessed with a special piece of paradise. A golf course for nature lovers, Avondale was constructed in 1927 by cutting through the natural bush. The fairways were built along sand stone ridges and, in places, spanned gullies where dense bush awaits the wayward shot.
Our bushland setting attracts a diverse range of native animals and birdlife.
Many hundreds of native Flora species can be found at Avondale.
