Cadet Programme
Avondale Golf Club conducts a Cadets programme to promote and encourage the development and involvement of young golfers.
Some of the objectives of the scheme are:
- Encouraging the sport of golf
- Teaching of rules and etiquette of golf
- Professional teaching of the techniques of golf
- Identifying talent and developing further skills
- Encouraging enjoyment in the playing of golf
Cadets are graded into the program as either Beginner/Intermediate or Advanced and progress through the ranks before potentially converting to a full Junior membership. The Beginner/Intermediate Cadets sessions are conducted on Thursday, Saturday and Sunday afternoons, and the Advanced sessions are held on a Sunday and Tuesday afternoon. They are coordinated by the Avondale Proshop Professional staff.
Most of the cadets who progress through the scheme establish good camaraderie and lasting friendships.
Participants sign up on a half-yearly basis. The 2025 Cadet Programme is limited to six cadets per group (total of 24 cadets for the year). To find out more about the scheme please contact the Proshop on 02 9440 8656 or email Nelson Turner: nturner@pgamember.org.au
